Under the patronage of the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Education Department initiated the Life Skills Enhancement and Development Program (LEAD) in collaboration with the Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Programme (GBRSP). Macam Services Private Limited (MSPL) was entrusted with executing this transformative initiative aimed at enhancing communication and public speaking skills among students in government schools across Gilgit-Baltistan.

Project Objectives:

  1. Conducting comprehensive training across ten districts in government secondary and higher secondary schools.
  2. Enhancing students’ communication skills to equip them for future challenges.
  3. Encouraging students to express themselves confidently and develop leadership capabilities.

School and College Selection:

School and college selection adhered to gender and area equality principles, ensuring the inclusion of both male and female students from diverse regions. Macam Services delivered life-enhancement training in one hundred schools.

Program Outcomes:

The successful execution of LEAD in one hundred schools resulted in:

  1. Students gaining confidence to express thoughts openly.
  2. Increased willingness to engage in discussions and take the lead.
  3. Marked improvement in students’ confidence levels while articulating thoughts and opinions.
  4. Enthusiastic participation from school and college teachers.
  5. Growing demand for additional training sessions.

Impact Story for the LEAD Program:

The program covered 101 schools, benefiting 5,118 students across ten districts in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Challenges:

There are 1778 schools in Gilgit-Baltistan, the LEAD program has reached only 100, creating a significant learning disparity. Limited government funds hinder the expansion of this impactful initiative to more schools, perpetuating educational inequalities.

Support for the Project Extension:

We invite donors to consider adopting 100 more schools for the extension of the LEAD program. Your support, with a total cost of Rs. 10 million, can empower more students in Gilgit-Baltistan, fostering confidence, leadership, and effective communication skills. Join us in this transformative journey of making a lasting impact on young minds.
